The project, funded through the Cooperation Plan of the Gran Canaria Cabildo, involves the repavimentation of a total of 33 streets across five neighborhoods in the city, with a specific focus on Escaleritas. This initiative is part of a larger plan that will see the asphalting of 60 streets over the current and next year, with an investment of 5.1 million euros.
Affected Areas and Schedule
The asphalting works, which began on October 29, have already transformed several streets in the Escaleritas neighborhood, including Tipógrafo Díaz Machado, Luis Braille, Magistral Roca Ponsa, and others. The upcoming week will see further work on key streets such as Juan Rodríguez Quegles, Ingeniero Ramírez Doreste, Letrado Ramírez Doreste, Eduardo Benítez González, and the plaza Obispo Frías.
- On Monday, the street Henry Dunant between Teobaldo Power and Obispo Romo will be closed for fresado.
- Tuesday will see asphalting on Eduardo Benítez González between Doctor Gómez Ulla and plaza Obispo Frías.
- Wednesday's focus will be on the plaza Obispo Frías and the street Ignacio de Lara.
- Thursday's work will involve repavimenting Eduardo Benítez González between Obispo Frías and Almirante Benítez Inglott.

The asphalting project is being executed by the company Surhisa Suárez e Hijos S.L. and is expected to continue in other neighborhoods such as Casablanca I and El Lasso once the work in Escaleritas is completed.
